How much will it cost me to participate?

Which classifications are there?

Each participant starts in the individual classification. There is also the possibility to be registered in the team classification. In addition to a uniform name, a team must consist of at least 4 person, at least 1 of which must be a lady.

What is included in the entry fee?

The entry fee guarantees for one of the 1,000 limited starting places at the White Ring Race. In addition to your start number you will receive a high quality starter gift and goodies. The ski pass is not included in the entry fee. You can buy it for a reduced price of (€ 55,- plus € 5 chip card deposit fee) before the race or at the start number distribution.

Do I need a ski ticket?

Yes, you can buy a reduced day ticket (€ 55,- plus € 5 chip card deposit fee) directly at the registration or at the start number distribution. Of course you can also get a ski pass directly at the ski lifts in Lech and Zürs.

How fit do I have to be?

The White Ring Race is a hobby ski race. The ski circuit includes about 22 km of ski runs and 5,500 meters of altitude. This requires a good general physical condition.

How old do I have to be to participate?

Participation is possible when you reach the age of 18. From the age of 16, participation in the race is allowed with the written consent of the parents. A guardian of full age must be present at the start number distribution and must also prove his identity.

When and where do I get my start numbers?

The starting number distribution will take place on Friday from 1pm to 7pm and on Saturday from 7am to 8am in the Lechwelten.

Do I have to return my race number?

At the finish we ask you to hand in your race number including transponder to the helpers. In case of non-return we have to charge you an amount of € 50,- per not returned or broken start number and € 70,- for not returned transponders.

This is necessary because our partner Datasport AG manages the timekeeping with the help of transponders. 

These transponders have to be returned to the company after the race. We thank you for your help!

How will my start number be assigned?

The start number is first calculated and assigned based on the existing results from the previous year. For first-time participants, the start number will be randomly assigned. The start number can be improved by participating in the REMUS Team Challenge two days before the race. The 10 fastest women and 10 fastest men will receive a starting number among the first 100 starting numbers. More information about the REMUS Team Challenge can be found here.

How does the race work?

The first starters will go to the start on January 18th around 9:00 am. There will be 2 persons starting at a time and in an interval of 10 seconds. Each participant will be charged a standard time for the lift and track runs. Designated flags BEFORE and AFTER the lifts and lanes indicate that your individual lift ride time will be measured and then adjusted the same for all participants.

 

No crowding and no overcrowding of the bars, chairs or cabins. The race will be decided on the slope!

When do I have to be at the start of the race?

Each participant will receive his or her individual start time via SMS push notification. The start times are also available online. Please be at the start area about half an hour before your start time.

Is there any compulsory equipment?

For the race it is obligatory to wear a ski helmet, which complies with the European standard EN 1077, on the entire course. Mountaineering, ice hockey or cycling race helmets are not allowed. The wearing of a racing suit is forbidden. The space between the material and the body in the area of the legs and thighs up to the ski boots must be min. 80 mm. In the area of the elbows and biceps it is 60 mm.

Can I visit the course before the race?

The course inspection takes place exclusively online, no inspection (or training) before the race on site in the ski area! The course including all gates will be made available in advance exclusively on the homepage www.derweissering.ski by means of GPS data. The gates can then be moved slightly differently on race day than on the homepage in advance, if the race organizers deem this necessary for safety reasons.

When does the award ceremony take place?

The award ceremony will take place half an hour after the last participant has arrived at the finish area. This will probably be between 13 and 13:30 o‘clock at the Rüfiplatz.

Can I take a break during the race?

Short breaks to catch your breath without endangering others on the race course are allowed. Taking a break or even leaving the race course is prohibited and will result in exclusion from the race.

Can I cancel my ticket?

The cancellation conditions are stated in the general terms and conditions. A refund of 50 % of the entry fee and 100 % of the ski pass (if booked) is possible until December 31, 2024. After that a cancellation is excluded.

Are there any photos of the race?

The Sportograf will be on the course and will take photos of every racer. These can be viewed and purchased after the race at https://www.sportograf.com/de.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the Rüfigarage, the Angergarage or the Schlosskopf parking lot.

Can I leave my valuables during the race?

Please take care of securing your valuables yourself. The organizer does not offer a room for safekeeping.

What happens in case of bad weather?

An alternative date will not be offered for the race. Should the weather, snow and/or slope conditions require it, the race director reserves the right to shorten or cancel the race. Information will be communicated to the participants in time.

Is there a clothing transport?

Unfortunately, there will be no transport of clothes.
